Paisley Hillwalking Club is one of Scotland's biggest and friendliest outdoor clubs. We’ve been active for over 25 years and attract members of all ages, backgrounds and abilities, from 17 to 70. We have around 100 members, mainly in the West, but also across Scotland and even as far-flung as the south of England. A few are beginners, others are seasoned climbers with Alpine experience!
Despite our name, we don’t just hillwalk! Amongst us we walk, scramble, climb, ski, ski tour, cycle, kayak......but the common thread is a love of the hills and of the type of camaraderie and fellowship which grows from sharing outdoor adventures with others. And of course, we have some great laughs doing it!!
We don't organise led walks or climbs but we do arrange trips and accommodation (see our fortnightly Sunday bus trips and weekend hut bookings pages) and suggest hills or ranges you might like to try. If you are a new to the hills we will look for suitable companions for you to get you started....
We organise a programme of Tuesday evening events, either topical talks (winter) or outdoor activities (summer), and a number of other social events. You can always find a number of us at The Bull Inn (often in a snug at rear) in Paisley on Tuesday nights from 8.30pm.
If you want to join us or find out more, contact the Club Secretary at phcinfo@paisleyhillwalkingclub.org.uk or join us on one of our Sunday bus trips to the hills; or Tuesday evening activities.
